Registration is now open for VI-ISERP / STEM Institute summer teacher training program.  Based at the University of the Virgin Islands St. Croix campus, the program offers a two-week summer professional development opportunity for in-service teachers who teach grades 6-12.

The dates for the 2017 st. croix
summer institute

Week 1: June 19 – 23 (8:30AM - 4:30PM) 

Morning Session (8:30-12:00): Advanced Perspectives in Mathematical and Scientific Modeling Practices with Culturally Responsive STEM

Afternoon Session (1:00 - 4:30): There will be two tracks in the afternoons for the first week

  1. PBL Training Track: Professional Development on Project-Based STEM Learning With Local best Practices
  2. T-in-STEM Training Track: Coding and Computing for Integrated STEM Learning

Week 2: June 26 – 30 (8:30AM - 4:30PM): Assessing Integrated STEM Learning Outcomes

In order to prepare participants most comprehensively for teaching excellence in the 2017-2018 school year, the STEM Institute requires participants to complete written products and to meet other participation guidelines. Please read the information below and confirm that you understand the program expectations. Stipends will be distributed based upon attendance and completion of products.
