Sea Turtles Take The Day
All sea turtles species found in the US Virgin Islands are protected under the Endangered Species Act. It is illegal to touch or harass them at any time. This encounter was possible under an exclusive research NMFS permit. What a wonderful and unique opportunity for the community to get up close and personal.
What Happens When A Species Disappears?
In the US Virgin Islands, large species parrotfish have been removed from the ecosystem and indeed the marine food chain. The consequence of this loss is unknown.
